Princess Donut

Donut · Princess Donut the Queen Anne Chonk · Viper Queen · Master Telephone Psychic

A tiara-wearing Persian show cat who talks, kills, and outranks nearly every crawler alive.

Story so far

Donut is the other half of the galaxy's favourite double act, and when Tempest is assigned "Carl and Donut" for her school report on perceptions of the crawl, nobody needs the names explained. On the card floor she came into her own as a deckmaster, and her loathing of the cat-girl serial killer Sister Ines was, in Quasar's telling, "funny as shit".

Her situation going into the ninth floor is the tightest knot in the whole story. Because she and Katia Grim both put on the same tiara — Crown of the Sepsis Whore — neither of them may leave the ninth floor until every The Naga is dead, and even then only one of them can go. Katia's escape hatch is a deal with a rich CEO sponsoring the goddess Eileithyia: eat the Orchid of Eileithyia's Grace, take one of three choices, become a twelfth-floor celestial attendant. Only if that works does Donut get to leave at all.

She enters Faction Wars as co-warlord of The Princess Posse, one of ten teams on a floor where the sponsors' protections have been voted away.

Appearance

A small, immaculately groomed apricot Persian cat with an enormous flat face, huge eyes and a plumed tail, wearing a jewelled crown and glittering accessories sized for a house pet.

Role

Co-warlord of the Princess Posse, the dungeon's top-ranked crawler celebrity, and one of two people bound by the Crown's curse.

Relationships

Carl — Her human, her co-warlord, and the other half of the act the whole galaxy watches.
Katia Grim — Bound to her by the tiara they both wore; only one of them may ever leave the ninth floor.
Mordecai — Her manager, who was railgunned by the fallout of Huanxin Jinx's ban.
Sister Ines — A cat-girl nun and serial killer Donut openly despised.
