Young nullian student trading plumbing work for a recap of Carl and Donut's eighth floor.
Tempest is a young nullian with a school report due on perceptions of the crawl. She has been assigned Carl and Princess Donut — obviously, she says, because her teacher Miss Guss knows she is related to Quasar, Carl's attorney, and she will fail if she does not interview him. Everyone else she is interviewing gives their answers for free; her uncle makes her fix his sink.
She is a bad plumber and a very good interviewer. She swears at him, calls him a colossal prick, threatens to tell her father that Quasar claims to be her real dad, and keeps dragging him back to the parts he skips — the spider in Carl's chest, the homeless shelter, the last card. She records everything on a wrist unit, is appalled by roughly half of what comes out of him, and finally destroys the sink entirely with the immortal cry of "Mother horse fucker penis basket."
Then she turns the recorder off and asks the question she actually came with: is her uncle in danger for representing Carl? His honest answer — that he thinks they all are, and that he is glad they live far out in the middle of nowhere — is the only part of the interview that does not go in the report.
A young nullian girl with rough, dry hide on her hands (her uncle's chosen insult), a recorder strapped to her wrist, sleeves shoved back over a half-dismantled sink.
