The ninth floor: ten warlord-led teams, no protections for the rich, and everyone expecting a slaughter.
Faction Wars is the ninth floor of the crawl and the thing every conversation about the eighth floor is really pointing at. There are now ten teams. The Princess Posse — Carl and Princess Donut's crowd-funded outfit — is one of them. Another is the NPC team, led by the psychotic changeling Juice Box, who ran around killing everybody until the system put a stop to it by making her a warlord.
The floor's rules bind people in ways the audience is still working through. Neither Donut nor Katia Grim may leave until every The Naga is dead, and even then only one of them can go, because they both put on the same tiara. And thanks to a vote taken at the end of the previous floor, the protections that kept wealthy participants safe are gone: Prince Stalwart, Operatic and Epitome Tagg of The Dream "can all really die now".
Quasar's professional forecast is one sentence long and hard to improve on: "It's gonna be a shitshow. An epic, but-sir-you-haven't-taken-a-bath shitshow."
Not yet seen from the inside — described only in its rules: ten teams, ten warlords, and a body count everyone is bracing for.
The floor the entire eighth-floor recap exists to set up, and the arena in which the crawl's rich are finally killable.
