The Trench Assault

The First Head-On Assault · The Assault

The Princess Posse's surprise offensive: a bombing run, Dazzler barrage, and two-thousand-strong charge across No-Man's Land.

Story so far

The enemy expected The Princess Posse to defend and hold out a full week until the offensive magic ban lifted, meaning to soften them with Artillery Batteries and overwhelm them from north and south before that could happen. Instead the Posse attacked. The framework came from contingencies Tipid and Rosetta brought from outside; only the second phase was Carl's, planned with Donut, Katia, Imani, Elle, and Mordecai with input from Baroness Victory. Every component was simple and most soldiers had one objective, so no single failure would collapse the whole.

The sequence: Louis flew the Party Planner low and walked four bombs across the ground in front of the enemy line, cratering it, burying the defenders in dirt, and destroying their forward traps. Elle toppled the first anti-air battery with a Missile Launcher. Britney sent in Team Retribution. The Trebuchet fired the first of four salvos of Dazzlers into the craters, which blasted Killing in the Name loud enough to shake the ground and deafen the enemy trenches. Then Donut gave the order — earplugs, Invisibility Potion, Obfuscation, up and over — and over two thousand Posse soldiers charged into pulse rifle fire behind illusory doubles and phantom tanks.

Role

The Posse's opening offensive, overturning the enemy's assumption that they would turtle behind their trenches.
