Baroness Victory

Acting Prime Minister Victory · Prime Minister Victory

Victory becomes acting Syndicate Prime Minister and witnesses Donut's execution of a CEO.

Story so far

Baroness Victory lingered on the doomed ninth floor waiting to be onboarded onto the Syndicate's temporary forward headquarters on the surface, her ship having been shot down. She explained her sudden promotion: with her underage nieces and nephews killed in orbit she was again eligible for political office, and since nobody was certain about former Prime Minister Fopsy's relationship with The Dream, he was passed over and she became acting Syndicate Prime Minister — chosen partly because she was stuck down here with everyone else. She insisted it changed nothing; she has less power than she had as a judge, and the council is as gridlocked as it was in the Lemig Sortion days.

Carl put a hand on her still-protected shoulder, wished her luck, and admitted he'd kill the Syndicate Prime Minister without hesitation anyway; she knew it. She explained the frozen-god exploit to Donut — a choice option, a sponsored god, a two-minute expiry — watched Huanxin Jinx die at her feet, congratulated the team on their victory, and left expecting to be yelled at for allowing the murder of another CEO, even though it was all within the rules.

Appearance

An orc noblewoman in a projected, softly incorporeal form that a fist would pass straight through.

Role

The newly minted acting Prime Minister of the Syndicate, and the rules lawyer who explains the god-freezing exploit.

Relationships

Carl — He wishes her luck while admitting he'd kill her office
Huanxin Jinx — Mocked by her, then dies at her feet
Fopsy — Passed over for the post she now holds
Rosetta — Arrives with her; strangely irritated by her news
Syndicate — Now its acting Prime Minister, pending a real vote
