Team Helix
The three-for-one mercenary squad hired for Heat Four — wiped out to the last member on the streets of Upano.
Story so far
Team Helix, the veteran three-for-one mercenary squad Rosetta and Tipid hired for Heat Four — the Grulke toad driver Olga, the Porsuk badger driver Finley, and the fire-fairy protector Quemada — comes to a brutal, tragic end during the jungle heat. Already unraveling (Quemada shattered into a suicidal panic after overhearing the awakened Akuma, and knocked unconscious by Finley), the squad is gutted further when the Gingers' chieftain Great Rusty soul-sucks Olga into a helpless fugue. Finley alone drives the crew into Upano, then — declaring the squad his family and refusing to let his stricken friends wake alone — carries the unconscious Olga and Quemada out into town to seek a cleric.
He steps onto Upano's open street and all three are instantly run down and killed by One Fine Pig's APV, which reverses to crush the bodies before fleeing. Team Helix is annihilated to the last member, a squad that had survived two heats destroyed not in the race but by a rival's casual cruelty.
