The scarred, memory-wiped fourth-edition cookbook author, now revealed as a former game guide with deep hidden-guildhall lore.
Tipid, the scarred, eyebrow-less former crawler and author of the fourth edition of the Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook, resurfaces as a quietly indispensable head of lore. Though his brain was re-scrambled and his memory wiped by a blast during Faction Wars — leaving Carl guilty about not talking to him more — he retains a surprisingly deep knowledge of hidden guildhalls, more than Mordecai and Mistress Tiatha combined, from his years as a dungeon 'game guide.' At the Lollipop he correctly deduces the stage-performance guild is hidden inside the bar, and cracks its lock: certain karaoke songs are secretly marked, and a singer who keeps the magical Guitar-Hero-style gauge in the green for a whole marked song opens the guild entrance. He also warns Carl about the war mages — evil creatures likely to use the crew to clear the Cabaret then kill them — but vouches for the skink Herot as a trustworthy 'thorn in the side' of a past season's showrunners, and flags the shadow mimics as the real danger.
He vets Carl's bar buffs (a 2% constitution beer; don't eat the peanuts) and gamely sings a tuneless 'Love Shack' to prove his theory. Samantha nurses an oblivious crush on him.
