Finley, the level-81 Porsuk badger and second driver of Team Helix, reveals unexpected depths on the jungle heat before his sudden end. When Quemada spirals into a suicidal panic attack, it is Finley who gently talks her down and, with surprising tenderness, casts Unconscious on her and tucks her into the truck's sink, carrying her thereafter in a scorched-leather pouch made just for her. After the Gingers leave Olga soul-drained into a fugue, he takes the wheel, chewing his claws in distress and lamenting that 'no pay is worth this,' driving the crew safely into Upano.
There, moved by Princess Donut's words to the shark Jamal about family, Finley makes his own quiet stand: he tells Carl he is taking the unconscious Olga and Quemada into town to find a cleric because 'they're my family,' that he has already lost too much, and that he will do whatever it takes to protect them even if it means defying orders. He steps out of the open garage onto Upano's street — and is instantly mowed down and killed by One Fine Pig's speeding APV, which backs up to crush all three bodies further before driving off. His whole squad dies with him.
