Assassination Attempt on Carl

Story so far

In the antechamber to the Flag Room, Herman the Fleet appears to be hunched over paperwork in blazing magical gear. He is in fact writhing in agony, fighting his own compulsion; he snaps the desk in half, gasps out an apology to his brother, and dozens of info boxes bloom around him at once as Carl realizes the glow is hidden explosive satchels.

Everything happens simultaneously: Carl shouts "Bomb!", Donut fires Magic Missile into the ogre's face, Tipid becomes smoke, Florin hits the deck behind a shield, and Baroness Victory steps out of the flag room to bury a battle-axe in Herman's skull. With the satchels destabilizing, Carl inventories the whole corpse, leaving only gore and a broken desk. Victory rules it an unlawful assassination by Sensation Entertainment, Incorporated, files a grievance against The Dream, claims kill credit for Donut, and berates The AI for never warning her.

Role

First direct attack on the Princess Posse's leadership, proving outside interests can reach inside the stronghold.
