character

Taranis

God of Thunder · regent of the Celestial Throne

The eldest sun-brother, God of Thunder and current regent of the Celestial Throne, whom his brother Hellik wants dead.

Story so far

Taranis, God of Thunder, is reframed through Emberus's family lore as the eldest of the three sun-brothers and the current regent of the Celestial Throne. His youngest brother Emberus covets that throne, while their sibling Hellik obsessively schemes to kill both Taranis and Emberus — a violently dysfunctional pantheon Mordecai warns crawlers to stay clear of. Taranis does not appear directly this floor, but his position atop the celestial hierarchy and his brothers' murderous ambitions loom over Carl's new, dangerous entanglement with the gods.

Appearance

Not seen this floor; a major sun/thunder deity, presumably colossal and fiery like his brothers.

Role

The eldest sun-brother and throne-regent, apex of the dysfunctional god-family Carl is now entangled with.

Relationships

Emberus — His youngest brother, who covets his throne.
Hellik — His brother, who schemes to kill him.
