The Bloom

the Great Consensus · True Unity

An ultranationalist kua-tin movement preaching 'system strength' and the extermination of 'dry' alien cultures like humanity's.

Story so far

The Bloom is the hardline kua-tin political movement to which handler Loita belongs, its creed exposed in her Stage-3 tirade. It venerates 'system strength,' 'True Unity,' and 'the Great Consensus' — a homogenizing ideology that despises 'dry' (land-based, multi-organ, diversified) cultures as contagion and rot. Loita frames humanity's very presence on the broadcast as spreading 'filth' to the young kua-tin 'fry,' and reveals the Bloom's methods: to reclaim the shiny-loving younger generation (embodied by Zev), they committed 'unspeakable things' against Zev's mother and aunts until she took the badge.

The Bloom's endgame is for Borant to seal its borders after the crawl and purge all human influence in a 'reawakening.' It is closely allied with Borant and the Bloom-aligned lending fund Veritan Linkage.

Role

A genocidal, homogenizing kua-tin ideological movement bent on erasing human culture — the political engine behind the party's harsher handling.

Relationships

Loita — Its true-believer agent, who preaches its creed before Carl kills her.
Zev — The young kua-tin the Bloom broke back 'into the fold' by torturing her family.
Veritan Linkage — The Bloom-aligned lending fund tied to its economic agenda.
Carl — The human crawler whose war on Borant is now also a war on the Bloom.
