The Bloom

the Bloom party · the Bloom of the kua-tin

The ultranationalist kua-tin party — marked by a dahlia-shaped pin — now seizing control of the crawl's PR and censoring the crawlers' intel.

Story so far

The Bloom is the ultranationalist kua-tin political movement whose rise now directly threatens the party. Identified by a shiny dahlia-like pin (worn by the admin Loita), the Bloom treats the Plenty's tunneling communications as an insidious plot — 'like a telegram company protesting the telephone' — and pushes the bigoted narrative baked into the Iron Tangle itself. In the epilogue the Bloom flexes its power over Borant's broadcast: through Loita it ousts the loyal agent Zev, bans interview refreshments (citing 'illegal buffs'), forbids Carl's book on set, and clamps 'tighter controls on the information crawlers are fed' — muting Odette mid-sentence in the name of a more 'equitable' crawl.

Carl resolves to catalog its symbol alongside the Syndicate's, recognizing the Bloom as a new, censorious adversary at the party's back.
