Leaderboard-topping human crawler hauled before the Syndicate over the Gate of the Feral Gods, then forced to pick a class specialty.
Entering the sixth floor as the number one ranked crawler with a three-million-gold bounty, Carl is pulled into a private office in the Desperado Club by Orren, the Syndicate liaison, with unseen committee members and a media rep listening in. Orren lays out the fallout from Larracos: The Dreadnoughts have abandoned faction wars entirely, and the system cannot legally confiscate the Gate of the Feral Gods from him — so the showrunners want him to surrender it voluntarily, with three options on the table including Acceleration. Carl stalls by asking why a liaison helped Maggie My's enemies cheat, then demands a lawyer, which visibly delights Orren.
Dumped afterward into the The Staging Area, Carl finds the arena nearly empty and joins the last of the line for Specialization. He chats with Katia, Princess Donut, and Mordecai, fist-bumps a one-legged crawler named Ajib, and gets a warning from a janitor NPC, Ian, about the hunter Vrah and the city of Zockau. In the filthy booth he defies Mordecai's advice and picks Agent Provocateur over Revolutionary and Guerilla, chasing the Advanced Bomb Maker's Workshop and a badly needed intelligence bump, ending the chapter as a level 47 Agent Provocateur.
A tired, buzzing-brained human man in boxer shorts and a jacket, the only clothing the dungeon lets him wear, moving through the emptying arena with the weariness of someone who badly needs sleep.
The dungeon's most dangerous crawler, negotiating with the people who want him dead while sharpening himself into a bomb-maker.
