The Proctors

Proctors · the gods of Olympus

The god-named overseers, invaded and captured in their own floating citadel by Darrow — mortals unmasked, exposed before the Drafters.

Story so far

The Proctors believed themselves untouchable gods atop floating Olympus, rigging the war for the Jackal and killing threats with impunity. Darrow shatters that: wearing dead Apollo's recoilArmor and carried up on stolen gravBoots with his Howlers, he does what no student in the history of the planets has done — he invades Olympus. Room by room the gods fall: Venus tied half-naked in her bed, Juno dragged from the baths, Vulcan surprised at his holoscreens, the genial Mercury stunned mid-dance, and finally the titan Jupiter hamstrung by the invisible Sevro.

Realizing there are no MedBots aimed at Olympus and that they are part of the game they escaped years ago, the captured gods pale — mortals all along. Darrow, hailed Godslayer and Sunkiller, seizes the armory and their holo-edits to expose their bribery to the watching Drafters, and rescues Mustang. Only the Jackal's Pluto and a few others remain outside his grip.
