character

Quicksilver

Regulus ag Sun

The Republic's richest man, hosting his lavish birthday gala while raging at taxes, monopoly-blocking, and his stolen ship.

Story so far

Quicksilver—Regulus ag Sun—throws his famously lavish birthday gala at his Hyperion tower, giving gifts to everyone else (even the valet Lyria, 'for your unsung service to the Republic'). Cynical and combative, he joins the Sovereign's inner council to rage against the Vox Populi peace, socialist taxation bleeding him dry, and Daxo's Senate blocking his acquisition of Ventris Communications and the mechanization of the mines—snapping that 'government is bad for the people' and that he had less trouble building Tinos than pushing a bill through the Senate. Beneath the political fencing he frets over a more personal outrage: someone has stolen his prized ship, the Nessus, and he wants to know who.

Appearance

A thickset, bald Silver man in a fine white velvet jacket, a Gold eyeball glinting in a ring on his heavy hand, whiskey in his fist; attended by a picturesque Pink companion.

Role

The Republic's wealthiest magnate and Sons of Ares founder; a caustic power broker sparring over the peace and his stolen ship.

Relationships

Daxo — The Telemanus senator blocking his acquisitions and mine mechanization, to his fury.
Victra — His fellow magnate, allied in scorn for the Vox Populi and its taxes.
Mustang — The Sovereign whose council he joins, urging ruthlessness against the Vox.
Nessus — His prized stolen ship, whose theft he demands be explained.
Lyria — The lowColor valet to whom he sends a birthday gift, unknowing of her role to come.
