Vox Populi

The Voice of the People · the Vox

Dancer's lowColor socialist Senate party demanding proportional power against Gold influence.

Story so far

The Vox Populi, 'Voice of the People,' is the lowColor party Dancer founded when Mars was freed, to counter what he saw as undue Gold influence over the Solar Republic. It agitates for proportional representation—Dancer would seat five hundred lowColor senators for every Gold—and rails against a Republic where the poor live fifteen to a room while highColor aristocrats keep their towers. Waving banners of an upside-down pyramid, its members jeer Darrow at his Triumph as a would-be tyrant with a bloody crown, and in the Senate they oppose Mustang and Darrow, having voted against his Iron Rain on Mercury.

Role

The chief political opposition within the Republic; the lowColor bloc checking Gold power and Darrow's authority.

Relationships

Dancer — Its founder and voice, the Red senator who wields it against Gold power.
