Terrified and defeated, chain-smoking on the asphalt with his teammate Jasha, he and Jasha reveal the floor's grim truth to Carl and Princess Donut: the racing NPCs are self-aware 'volunteers' who cycle through the dungeon's roles (slime mines, submarine, rope city), remembering their past lives and 'the cold' of the in-between only now — offered a choice to race for real freedom or let it finally end. Radoslav, who was variously Jasha's brother, enemy, and cousin, quietly hoped Alevtina might start a family with him.
