High Elf

High Elves

The people who killed Signet's grandmother, orphaning the half-naiad child Edgar found.

Story so far

High elves appear here only in backstory, but a load-bearing one. Princess Lunette had originally been a tattoo etched onto Signet soon after Edgar found her — young, alone, a half-naiad — following her mother's death at the hands of high elves.

That chain of loss is what put Lunette's body into Carl's possession, and therefore what makes the naiad heart and lungs available when Louis needs them.

Role

The killers whose act set Signet's history, and indirectly the surgery, in motion.

Relationships

Signet — Orphaned by them.
Princess Lunette — Her lineage shaped by their violence.
