Sergeant First Class
Army rank Donut grants recruited crawlers, giving them the ability to recruit others into the crawler army.
Story so far
As Carl's party descends through Larracos, the vast majority of dots on the map are other crawlers. When a group of men Carl does not recognize comes up and their names populate his Book of Voodoo, Donut pauses her wedding planning to make them all Sergeant First Class, which gives them the ability to recruit others in turn.
The effect is immediate: Carl's interface starts beeping with new recruits signing on, the Crawler Army numbers rising slowly, slowly. They have just under three days to get them all, so the promotion functions less as an honor than as a force multiplier — every new sergeant becomes another recruiter working the streets while Carl and Donut keep walking.
Role
Army rank that converts a recruit into a recruiter, letting the crawler army grow exponentially.
