Non-magical tech weapon whose blasts punch through stacked buffs and cook crawlers alive.
Pulse Rifle fire is the assault's dominant threat at the castle entrance. The blasts thump against the One Way shields and, unlike thrown grenades, are not stopped by them. Dozens of buffs flow over the defenders until everyone glistens with multi-hued shields and their name plates grow absurdly long, but Carl notes the grim arithmetic: most of those buffs are stat-enhancing, and a non-magical blast powerful enough to punch a hole in a tank is not going to be stopped by a ten percent buff to dexterity. All the protection does is dull the hit. Sort of.
A pulse blast nearly takes Tipid's arm off. Two hits merely knock the level-10 Rend over squealing. Two more kill the crawler mage Nick Sheets outright, his body sizzling like bacon before catching fire. Even Tina's stacked shield bars pop one after another under concentrated fire, though hers refill.
Tech firearms firing burning blasts powerful enough to hole a tank, hammering shields with audible thumps.
