The Trench

The Posse Trenches · Trench Line

The Princess Posse's fortified forward trench, heavily warded and deliberately allowed to erode for the assault.

Story so far

Carl, Dong Quixote, Holger, and Donut massed in the trench while mages heaped protection spells on the assault group. Across from them, the spine of dirt that had shielded them from the Rot Sticker attack was slowly eroding under enemy Artillery Batteries fire. They could have had the mages repair it, but they wanted it worn down for the assault and kept down in case they had to retreat.

The channel was tight enough that Imani's spread wings filled it wall to wall. Rocks whistled down from the clouds into their positions, some explosive, some carrying fog or poison; a strange ozone scent hung in the air from the hundreds of concurrent protection spells filtering it. Carl watched through a Periscope screen. Handholds were built into the top part of the trench so soldiers could pull themselves up and over. When Baroness Victory arrived with Drick, the Dream elf's appearance caused bedlam in the crowded space. Britney reported that enemy spies had breached the second trench of the line.

Appearance

A narrow earthen channel crowded with armed soldiers, handholds cut into its upper lip, an eroding dirt spine before it and a low black cloud ceiling above.

Role

The Posse's staging fortification and jumping-off point for the assault into No-Man's Land.

Relationships

The Princess Posse — Holds and launches from this trench line.
