Story so far

An earlier rot sticker attack on the Posse position had thrown up — or necessitated — a spine of dirt in front of The Trench, which had protected the defenders through that assault.

By the time of the trench assault, that same spine was slowly eroding under enemy Artillery Batteries fire. Carl could have had the mages restore it, but the Posse wanted it worn down for their own charge over the top, and wanted it kept down in case they needed to retreat back across No-Man's Land. The remnant of the rot sticker fight thus became a deliberate feature of the offensive's geometry.

Earlier attackers whose assault shaped the earthworks the Posse now deliberately lets erode.

Relationships

The Trench — Their attack left the dirt spine that shields it.

Carl — Repurposes the aftermath of their attack for his assault plan.
