Portal Dial

The Dial · Temple Address Dial

Light-covered desk device that sets the temple portal's destination by integer address, with an automatic faith-routing mode.

Story so far

The strange device on the desk behind Yasmine's station is what tunes the Ultima Corp DungeonWerx Municipal Doorway Portal to a given temple. Carl sent Katia to work it, and she reported back in frustration that she couldn't tune it — it was just lights. Rosetta admitted she had no idea how it functioned and told them to figure it out.

Prepotente took one look and called the mechanism quite simple: first switch off automatic mode, which would otherwise route each person to their own god's temple — Carl to Emberus, Katia to Eileithyia, Prepotente to the Epicure — then enter the destination as integers. Carl called out 453 from Rosetta's codex, the display blinked, and the readout changed to Khepri's gated temple. Samantha was later caught examining the dial, and Carl took a screenshot to verify she hadn't changed the address.

Appearance

A strange device sitting on the portal desk, its interface apparently nothing but lights to the untrained eye, with integer entry once automatic mode is off.
