The gnome commandant, found dead in his own kitchen — killed by his daughter's pet goose before Carl could ever confront him.
Commandant Kane's story ends before Carl can face him. When Carl and Princess Donut board the fallen flying house to seize his throne room and watch-piece, they find the Level 55 gnome already dead — draped across his kitchen table, half-eaten, "ripped to shreds by Denise," the pet goose he'd gotten to console his daughter Bonnie. Carl loots his corpse for 5,030 gold, the Mysterious Watch (the Gate's second piece), and a damning letter from the Mad Dune Mage Ghazi revealing the mage's doomsday threat.
The revelation that Kane was a doting father who bombed a whole town to soothe his grieving child recasts the tyrant as another tragic pawn of the bubble's cruelty.
