Town Rules

settlement rules · guard parameters

Settlement ordinances a town's owner sets from the management menu, enforced by the guards.

Story so far

Taking Point Mongo gave Princess Donut a settlement menu with rules and guard parameters she could rewrite at will — no need to wear the leadership charm just to open it, though Mordecai said she must wear it to actually command the guards. The garrison was still hostile after the takeover and had to be reset, which Mordecai said is not complicated but sometimes takes a minute to take effect.

Donut purged the previous administration's ordinances, keeping only the anti-bugbear rule because bugbears are stinky. Carl made her delete that one too: the rule was effectively a trap, since forcing every bugbear down to the river's edge to wash would drown them the way the bear that rolled down the hill was snagged into the water. Donut settled for having the guards soap them up instead. Mordecai observed that Donut's town menu is far more extensive than any he has seen, with everything rearranged since the floor opened.

Role

The lever by which Donut governs Point Mongo, and the flashpoint with the town's clergy.
