Darrow's cousin and friend, Narol's son, a playful Lambda driller married to Eo's sister.
Loran is Darrow's cousin and closest friend on the Lambda crew, son of Narol. He eggs Darrow on to chase the Laurel, whoops at his daring, and delights in getting others drunk so he can tie ridiculous ribbons in their hair. He is married to Dio, Eo's sister and near-twin in looks, though he once knelt to Eo herself when she turned fourteen, as half the clan's lads did.
Warm, teasing, and loyal, he mocks his own father's caution and cheers for a Laurel that goes to Gamma instead.
A young Red driller of the clan, red-haired; playful and easy in manner.
Darrow's cousin and boon companion on the Lambda crew.
