A buried predecessor colony hides the original contamination breach, abandoned machinery, a pleading central system, and Target Control’s corpse-grown network.
The Pre-CR Installation predates Adamantine’s settlement and lies beneath the ribbed complex near the surface dock. Its lower storage shaft holds a deactivated assembler, scaffolds, transport crates, and a broken hazard seal broadcasting contamination warnings in several old languages. The captors suspend Murderbot there above the original Alien Remnant site, apparently expecting exposure or permanent confinement.
Murderbot escapes into stone corridors filled with collapsed pressure crates, faded decoration, illegible writing, and evidence of long human catastrophe. A vast aircraft hangar with a primitive lift tube leads to an engineering level centered on a star-shaped Pre-CR system component. Damaged safety lights and old hazard signals remain active despite decades of abandonment.
An Unidentified Sender inside the complex broadcasts “assistance needed” but is blocked from outside access by Target Control System. Following the plea, Murderbot and Murderbot 2.0 reach a chamber where a dead human lies wrapped in white crystalline growth. A hidden web of active connections radiates from the body, interweaves with the old central system, and extends through the walls, revealing the installation as the physical root of the colony’s control network.
An immense underground complex of real stone corridors, faded decorative bands, damp storage rooms, a thirty-meter assembler shaft, an aircraft hangar, primitive lift fields, and dim engineering chambers lit by wan hazard globes.
The installation is the colony’s buried technological and historical heart. It joins the original remnant disaster, the trapped legacy system, and the active coercive network in one dangerous structure.
