Story so far
Amena guards the injured Murderbot from unwanted touch when it restarts on ART’s shuttle deck and remains nearby through the isolation treatment. After ART removes the contaminated code and Medical repairs the SecUnit, Amena brings a chair to the platform and waits beside it while browsing the university catalog.
Murderbot chooses Amena as the first person to tell about ART’s mission invitation. She interprets the temporary job as a cautious trial of whether Murderbot and ART’s family want a more serious association, an analogy ART conspicuously does not correct. Amena worries about the transport’s operations in Corporation Rim but argues that ART would not invite the SecUnit unless it believed the change could be good for it.
When Mensah arrives, Amena returns to the Preservation responder with her mother. She has helped bring two machine intelligences into explicit personhood during the crisis—Murderbot 2.0 as a distinct life and Three as someone entitled to a name and choice—and now extends the same moral clarity to Murderbot’s uncertain future.
Appearance
Amena is an adolescent girl whose skin tone, features, hair color, and build remain undescribed. Her tied-back hair and clean replacement clothing accompany a healing leg supported by a medical pack.
Role
Amena is Murderbot and ART’s emotional interpreter and an advocate for every emergent person around them. She helps turn the SecUnit’s next mission into a choice rather than a departure crisis.

Murderbot — Murderbot trusts Amena with ART’s invitation, and she helps name both the risk and the possibility inside it.
ART — Amena understands ART’s concern for Murderbot and accurately reads the mission invitation as more than a one-off contract.
