Story so far
As Sovereign, Mustang moves fast to remake the Society: securing the Gray Legions and Obsidian slave-knights, disbanding the Senate, dissolving the Board of Quality Control, and taking the first steps to dismantle the Color hierarchy and Gold's grip on the military, while thousands face charges for crimes against humanity. Then she flies Darrow to a wild Earth beach and finally explains herself: her years of testing him—since she blocked his ship at Phobos—were to see whether he could build, whether her people could live in his world, and whether she could rebuild the trust his six-year lie had broken. And she reveals the deepest reason: their son Pax, born nine months after the Lion's Rain while Darrow lay in the Jackal's stone box, hidden aboard the Dejah Thoris and then guarded by Kavax's wife in the Belt so their enemies could never find him.
The peace she sought was for him—a world without war. She brings the child to Darrow on the beach with his family gathered round, at last trusting him to be father as well as sword.
