Dejah Thoris

Virginia's warship carries the retreating Republic toward Mars, where its guarded stateroom becomes the place she orders Darrow to seek help beyond the siege.

Story so far

The Dejah Thoris waits in the transport queue descending toward Mars after the evacuation of Phobos. Its outward formation of capital ships over the transports makes the fleet look cautiously defensive; Virginia's hidden priority is protecting the coordinates of the tightbeam conversation with the cloaked Archimedes.

From her stateroom aboard the Dejah Thoris, Virginia au Augustus speaks to Darrow for the first time in months. The ship therefore becomes the cramped setting for a decision larger than the retreat itself: Mars's Sovereign tells her husband not to approach the planet, but to remain outside the siege and seek the force needed to save it.

Appearance

A Republic capital warship traveling in the guarded descent formation from Phobos to Mars, with private staterooms and tightbeam communications aboard.
