Story so far
Count Dracula travels helplessly in his last box up the river and into the custody of the Szgany, who race him toward Castle Dracula. As the lid opens at sunset, he lies waxen and pale, red eyes shifting from hatred to triumph at the light's final edge.
Jonathan Harker's kukri knife shears through his throat while Quincey Morris drives a bowie knife into his heart. Dracula's entire body crumbles into dust before the men's eyes. A look of peace briefly crosses his face, fulfilling Mina's insistence that destruction may also release the monster's imprisoned soul.
Appearance
At the end he appears waxen and deathly pale inside his box, with red eyes, hooked nose, pointed beard, sharp teeth, and a briefly peaceful expression before crumbling to dust.
Role
Dracula is destroyed at the boundary of night and home, his centuries of predation ended by simultaneous human courage and the narrow laws binding his body.
