A bakery owner with two mage daughters, Silfa learns she was Hekla's bait and carries the news back to her girls.
Silfa hides in the ManTauR apartment behind a concealment effect until Princess Donut catches a blink of her dot, hunts her down, and pins her face-first into the draining blood. She fights, casts a feeble ice spell into Carl's leg — he has ice resistance and does not feel it — and calls Katia Grim a murderer and a traitor: Hekla saved her life, saved all of them, and now what are they supposed to do?
Carl talks instead of fighting. Point by point he establishes that Hekla told her to stop healing Katia (in fact Eva Sigrid passed the order), told her to hide inside the car rather than leave it, and stationed her two mage daughters right outside with instructions to kill Carl first if anything went wrong. Silfa was the bait: with Katia dead, Carl was expected to turn his famous temper on the healer, which would have given Hekla cause to put him down. Silfa's protests curdle as she examines the invisible Dirty Little Phased Bolt Carl hands her.
What comes out of her instead is the person underneath: she owns a bakery, she only wants her girls safe, she just wants to go home, she should not be here. And she delivers the epitaph for her faction — with Hekla dead, Eva is leader by default, nobody likes Eva, members are quitting, Brynhild's Daughters is no more. They have almost no equipment, no personal space, and a shared sponsor, a crab ranch, that has never sent them anything. Carl lets her out with an apology to carry to her daughters, and hears three women start to sob on the other side of the locked door.
A plump fairy who looks about fifty, larger than most fairies but small enough for Carl to hold in one hand, dripping blood, arms crossed.
The Daughters' last voice in the cab, and the unwitting bait in Hekla's plan to acquire Donut and Mordecai.
