The last stop before the mimic — and where five crawlers got the shock of their lives instead of dying.
Seven hours up the Mindaro Line, just as the cart passed station 432, Katia Grim shouted that there were people on the track. Carl flipped the Debris Scoop off The Abyss and cut the throttle. The cart had no brakes, but the ten-second portal switch had just enough room.
The five crawlers ahead were sprinting away down the track from the oncoming light; one of them had the presence of mind to shoot an ice bolt back at the cart, which hit the portal and vanished. The cart ploughed through them and dumped all five into Station and Repair Hub E. Carl's own guess was that they thought they were about to die. Less than two minutes later he sent the Station Mimic through the same portal to the same yard, and never found out whether they got clear.
An unremarkable numbered stop on a dead line, marked mainly by the blue dots that appeared just past it.
The point on the Mindaro line where a rescue and a catastrophe were separated by two minutes.
