Petey Motteux's Little Secret
A large magical nipple ring granting underwater breathing (Oxygenated) and a bar-and-brothel-mapping 'Bawdy' benefit — improvised by Carl to keep Penny alive.
Story so far
Petey Motteux's Little Secret is a large, thick nipple ring from the pile of jewelry Mistress Tiatha set aside from previous crawlers — an item Carl didn't want and Donut refused (too big to eat with her kneepads on). It imparts the Oxygenated benefit (letting the wearer breathe without air) plus the Bawdy benefit, which automatically marks bars, dance halls, and 'chocolate houses' on the map. Stuck in the airless guts of Scolopendra with Penelope suffocating and unable to take another anti-suffocation potion so soon (her constitution only three), Carl pierces the pig's flesh with the ring on the spot — earning a fresh achievement and a startled squeal — to give her the Oxygenated benefit and keep her breathing.
One of hundreds of absurd magical trinkets the crawl throws at them, pressed into unlikely lifesaving service.
