Story so far
The Guild of Suffering is the faction that has taken over the Desperado Club casinos on floor ten, led by Hamed, the late Astrid's 'husband,' with his children Anaconda and Damascus Steel among its number. Astrid was killed by Carl and Katia on an earlier floor, so the guild's control of the club carries an unresolved grudge. The threat becomes concrete when Splash Zone, Gluteus Maxx, Doctor Bones, and the rest of Carl's stripper crew go into the club to meet 'the new boss' and promptly drop off the floor entirely, uncontactable — Carl still charged their mercenary fees while unable to reach them.
He fears the guild has done something to his people and orders everyone to steer clear of the Desperado Club until the racing crisis is resolved.
