Story so far
Scottie trained under Juliette and Walker, growing close to Juliette and learning to preserve electrical ties. He became skilled in electronics and pump-timing programs before IT recruited him from Mechanical. Walker had encouraged him to take the job. Scottie later supplied Juliette with computer records on a data drive, warning her not to be caught with them.
In a fearful, locked-office meeting, Scottie identified strange text forwarded by Deagan Knox as a computer program. He feared cleaning for possessing or discussing it, printed it so Juliette could take it away, and claimed he had deleted every copy. He asked for a transfer back to Mechanical. A subsequent wire admitted that he had kept investigating: the display program’s pixel density did not match the big screen. Distrusting porters and feeling unsafe, he paid to send his discoveries by wire before his death.
Walker remembers Scottie as a former shadow he could not protect in IT. While working on the radio, Walker imagines Scottie suggesting a circuit-board bypass, and after an explosion calls for his help in confusion. A floating corpse later reminds Juliette of Scottie as another person she cared about and lost.
