Off-world teams rename their TV programs in the still-active feed directory to smuggle real-time messages into the dungeon.
Odette reveals this as the big agenda item at the warlord council. Two-way conversation is banned, watching external live feeds is banned, and learning enemy troop movements via tunnel is heavily regulated now that The AI monitors it all. But the Galactic News Media Center is available as a tier three upgrade—purchased by every team except the Princess Posse and Team Retribution—and while the ban killed access to live feeds, the feed *directory* remains active to all subscribers, listing the names of programs currently tunneling.
Every off-world team owns at least one entertainment studio and channel; The Dream owns several. They pay to rename programs over and over to send messages. That very day Epitome Tagg held a real-time conversation with a news program formerly called Sensation Updates, which changed its name seven times in an hour and was at that moment called "Yes. We have Deactivated the Infected Hardware." Each name change costs roughly 30,000 credits paid to the Syndicate Entertainment Authority and then to the Plenty for a hot update. Carl is furious, and the Mexx Robot relays that the AI "loves a good loophole" and cannot close it unless someone makes an emergency request—so Carl spends an Emergency Action Item to shut it down.
The information channel the off-world teams used to keep talking to the outside despite the live-feed ban.
