The Bloom
Loyalist power in the Borant civil war that the rebels hired the Valtay to help defeat.
Story so far
Princess Vinata names them in her whispered briefing to Carl at the warlord council: the rebels hired The Valtay to help defeat the Bloom forces in the Borant System, but the war goes poorly.
The implication is that the Bloom are winning, or at least holding, while the liquid habitation ring around Borant Three burns and millions die—Cascadia's former husband and most of her family among them. Odette describes the same conflict on air only as "a bloody civil war."
Role
The side the Borant rebels and their Valtay mercenaries have failed to beat.
Relationships
Borant System — The system they are fighting for.
The Valtay — Hired against them by the rebels.
