HUD

Interface

Carl's heads-up display, showing a new battlefield notification style for amplified officer orders.

Story so far

At the Southern Front Carl's HUD carries the full weight of the battle: armor-loss announcements for Spider Tank S4, the entry notice for the Princess Posse forward position with the 102nd Bulwark Battalion at 98% strength, minimap dots showing a thousand incoming pets, fallen-soldier notifications after the gurgler outbreak, low-shield warnings, and experience and achievement notifications from his dynamite throws.

It also shows something Carl has never seen before. When Tran shouts for his moles with a supernaturally amplified voice, the same words appear across the top of Carl's interface in a notification style entirely new to him; afterward a blinking directive reads "Back in place. Back in place. Defend the line." Warlord-scale combat has apparently unlocked a broadcast-order channel in the display itself.

Role

Carl's information layer, newly extended with amplified officer order broadcasts during mass battle.

Relationships

Carl — The crawler whose interface it is.
Tran — Officer whose amplified orders appear on it in a new style.
