character

Loita

Assassinated kua-tin whose looted rebreather ends up grafted into Louis's chest.

Story so far

Loita is dead before this chapter, assassinated by Mordecai, but the tiny Kua-tin Rebreather taken from her body has been sitting in Carl's inventory ever since.

When Edgar needs a way to make naiad lungs survivable in a land-breathing body, he asks for it. Carl digs it out — small enough to pass for a large bracelet — and it is sewn into Louis's bronchial tube during Louis's Surgery, keeping him alive on organs harvested from Princess Lunette.

Role

The dead kua-tin whose looted gear becomes the key to Louis's survival.

Relationships
