Squim

The Squim

The species that ran the previous battle-royale season on Aryl and 'relocated' its survivors.

Story so far

When Carl presses Zev about what happened to the citizens of the Aryl System who didn't participate in the crawl — the season was only a few years ago — she stumbles before answering that it was a Squim season, and they do things a little differently. There were some survivors, and they were relocated.

The evasion sits badly. The planet was emptied entirely, leaving only mining ships and mineral-reclamation crews in the surrounding system when everything went dark. The Squim also ran the AI that had stopped speaking weeks before the blackout, sometime around the Sixth Floor of the current crawl.
