Insidious addictive dungeon drug that makes users relive a favorite memory, derived from a real-world training medication.
Per Mordecai and Rosetta, Glory Bound is based on a real-life medication from outside the inner system, originally designed to help train people for difficult tasks: a long period of subliminal conditioning followed by a trip that unlocked the conditioned knowledge. It was abused, then discontinued and replaced, but its effects persist inside the dungeon, where it has been repurposed for dozens of quests across seasons — sometimes as a storyline prop, sometimes, as with Katia, as a trap.
The drug drops the user into their favorite memory and is savagely addictive, its side effects including a loss of grip on what is real. Clearing the physical addiction requires re-living the experience a second time, which is why Mordecai compounds two hits of Glory Bound into a subdermal gel cut with Tough Love — and, for Carl, with Removal Order. The brew took multiple floors to age, goes stale fast, and is only usable in a narrow window. There have historically been "possessed" quests requiring victims to find the Drug Den in the Desperado Club to be cured.
Delivered here as a thick, carbonated, fizzing green slime in a jar that hisses audibly, applied as a subdermal gel.
The addictive memory drug that both caused Katia's condition and serves as the vehicle for the cure.
