Story so far

At the very end of chapter 10, having been talked out of her murderous pursuit of Tish by the promise of seeing Princess Donut's new cloak, Samantha casually asked over chat whether Carl had shown Donut his pet tummy acher yet — adding that Carl had promised she could name him. Donut, blindsided, demanded to know what Samantha was talking about. Carl only sighed.

This was evidently the thing Carl had been dreading telling Donut about, the reason he'd wanted to gather backup first.
