The Railing
The tiered edges of the funnel city, lined with crawlers who throw flowers and streamers down onto Carl and Donut.

Larracos is a funnel city, and its rings of railings look down into the center. In the last minutes, thousands of crawlers stood in those rings looking down upon Carl and Donut as a sudden silence filled the city and Milk made her announcement.
The surrendered enemy mercenaries filled the same levels — Corporal Pillbox nodded down at Carl from among them. When the farewell came, the crawlers all threw flowers and streamers over the edges of the railings, filling the broken city with shining, colorful light.
