Corporal Pillbox

A gnoll mercenary who served Empress D'Nadia, survived the war, and is spared by Carl at the end.

Story so far

With the ninth floor minutes from destruction, Carl gazed up at a group of surrendered enemy mercenaries staring down at him from the tiers of Larracos. The closest was a gnoll mercenary, Corporal Pillbox, who nodded down at him. He had been in Empress D'Nadia's employ and yet had managed to survive.

Carl's initial instinct was to kill them all — he could have marked them the way Li Na had and raised his stats 300 points across the board — but he refused. Later, as the flowers fell, Carl met eyes with Pillbox again and found the gnoll crying. Told by Milk that the embargo meant the mercenaries wouldn't really be going home, Carl said that if their masters did send them back into the dungeon, he thought those masters would end up regretting it.
