Queen Imogen's Private Kitchen
The late queen's kitchen beside the ballroom, requisitioned as the venue for the warlords' field ruling.
Story so far
Off to the side of the ballroom, the private kitchen of the late Queen Imogen becomes the courtroom for the Field Ruling Adjudication. Its table is made of rich, finely carved wood, and within moments it is covered in Carl's bloody handprints. Bugbear mercenary cooks are shooed out as the warlords enter, and no guards are permitted inside.
On the counter sits the room's most jarring detail: an abandoned bag of Earth cat food leaning against the wall, sealed with a little plastic clip. The cheap yellow bag is branded "Meow Time" with a happy cartoon cat, and carries a sticker reading "a gift from Pet Angels." Carl cannot take his eyes off it, wondering whether this is what Ferdinand was eating while he lived in the castle, and how on Earth it got here at all.

A castle kitchen with a rich, finely carved wooden table, counters, and a wall where a bag of cheap cat food leans abandoned.
