Emberus Ring
the ring
Carl's ring from Emberus, which glows red and cools while absorbing the Madness's psionic assault.
Story so far
During the psionic barrage on Carl, a crawler shouts "Look at his finger! That ring is glowing red!" as the Emberus Ring visibly responds to the massed mind magic being poured into him.
Once Mind Balance reaches level 16 and Carl stands up, the ring cools on his finger. He tells Imani there is no need for Wisp Armor — dozens of mind-based spells are crashing against his interface without finding purchase, and he grins and invites the enemy to keep trying.
Appearance
A ring on Carl's finger that glows visibly red under psionic attack, then cools once the attack fails.
Role
A visible indicator and apparent defense against the mind magic aimed at Carl.
