Dungeon-Born NPCs

Dungeon-Born Mercenaries

NPCs native to the dungeon; the for-hire ones vanish at the floor's end while Larracos's residents transfer.

Story so far

The dungeon-born split two ways when Zerzura fired. The for-hire dungeon-born mercenaries fielded by all teams — along with hired ones like Sledge and the surviving Cretins — would simply disappear, headed either for NPC Storage or back into the Mercenary Markets, and would not move to The Twelfth Floor.

The thousands of NPCs who actually lived in Larracos, by contrast, moved with the city to Ascendency, alongside all the Changelings and the Semeru Dwarves. The rules of the gods hold NPCs Untouchable until the event begins, which is what makes their arrival survivable.

Role

The dungeon's native population, whose fate at the floor's end depends entirely on whether they were hired or resident.

Relationships

Larracos — Its resident NPCs transfer with the city.
Mercenaries — The for-hire dungeon-born vanish instead of transferring.
Untouchable — Protected by the rule until Ascendency begins.
