Mountain Bunker

The Colorado mountain bunker was an expanded government refuge; April now reports only herself and Remy remaining from a group of fifteen.

Story so far

The shelter occupies a former government facility in Colorado’s mountains. Originally designed for fifteen hundred people to survive five years, the bunker became a tourist attraction before falling into disrepair and being expanded. Preparation includes cleaning and refilling its water and diesel tanks; the entrance has four-foot-thick solid steel doors.

Dmitry estimates eighteen months to two years of rationed food for the full population. Residents fight and gather at the closed doors after learning the truth. April later remembers the abandoned facility and reports that only she and Remy remain from the group she describes as fifteen.
