April

April, Tracy’s sister and Remy’s wife, shoots Juliette after years of seeking those she blames; Elise then shoots her in the throat.

Story so far

A schoolteacher four years older than Tracy, April is married to Remy and remembers their home in Maryland. She angrily objects to Tracy deciding her fate, but is sedated for a plan to preserve the couple in a cryopod.

April awakens beside Remy in a metal canister, attached to an IV and catheter, with no memory of being placed there. A key hangs around her neck, and a storage trunk labeled with her name waits overhead. The couple drink water mixed with Tracy’s blue powder. April reads, but does not believe, Tracy’s claim that they have slept five hundred years; she also discovers Tracy’s wish that the survivors punish those she blames for destroying the world. After an attacker bites Remy’s hand, April bandages it with a shirt.

Later, April tells Elise that their group numbered fifteen for a long time and that only she and Remy remain. She says they have walked for years to confront those they hold responsible for their losses. On reaching Juliette, April draws a silver gun and shoots before Juliette can explain. Elise shoots April in the throat before she can fire again.
